Workshops

Babyoperas team offer workshops for children with their adult companion and/ or workshops for artists that are interested in performances for children 0 – 3 years 

Babyopera`s artistic leader, Christina Lindgren, has created seven performances for this age group since 2006. The perfomrances have been of genres as opera, story tell theatre, music theatre, installation art and performance including ancient myths, music and dance. Workshops in various format can be tailored for the group of participants and time available. 

 

Workshop for artists that are interested in developing performance for children 0 – 3 years

We visited Rwanda, Kigali, KINA festival at Ishyo Arts Centre in May 2018 with the performance MAGO. Artistic director Christina Lindgren held a one week workshop for young professionals and the results were shared in a session on the last day.

Workshop for artists that are interested in developing performance for children 0 – 3 years

Babyopera visited the music festival Nordlysfestivalen in Tromsø, in the very North of Norway, with the performance Orfeus´ Comfort, opera for babies, on February 4th 2023. The workshop took place five days upfront the performances.  Through an open call,  dancers, actors, mime artist and musicians were selected, forming teams. Over the five days, the three teams developed each one sketch for performances. With the starting point in the artistic material originating from the artists, the workshop gave tools and methods for an interdisciplinary process, resulting in three original creations. The result was shared for kindergarten groups of toddlers on the last day and video recorded.

Workshops for children 0 – 3 years and their adult companions

We visited Russia, Voronez, Marshak Festival in November 2017 with the performance Dragon Zoo. Artistic director Christina Lindgren and performer Katja Henriksen Schia, gave workshops for adult and children.

Time:  2 hours. Number of participants: Maximum twenty-five workshop-participants. 

 

Workshops for young professionals in traditional korean dance by dancer Mijeong Moon and Hee Sun Kim

We visited Rwanda, Kigali, KINA festival at Ishyo Arts Centre in May 2018 with the performance MAGO. Dancer Mijeong Moon and producer Hee Sun Kim, held a three hour workshop for young professional artists.
